Geotab unveils new sustainability & EV charge platform

Today

Geotab has announced an expansion of its vehicle platform with the introduction of the Geotab Sustainability Center and EV Charge Monitoring.

The new features are designed to assist fleet managers in improving operational efficiency and cutting costs while also addressing environmental concerns. The Geotab Sustainability Center aims to consolidate key metrics, such as fuel and emissions, idling trends, and the potential for vehicle electrification, into a single platform.

The platform provides a centralised hub for data insights, which can aid in cost control, compliance, and operations management. "Even small changes like monitoring idling can have a big impact on operations. The Geotab Sustainability Center empowers fleets with precise data insights to take actions that translate into lower costs while supporting their environmental goals," stated Megan Allen, Senior Group Product Manager at Geotab.

The Geotab Sustainability Center includes several key features. Fleet managers can track idling trends to understand idle time and identify areas where fuel is wasted. The platform also offers fuel metrics to measure both total fuel and electric vehicle energy use, along with tracking the effectiveness of emissions reduction strategies.

Additionally, the center provides electrification insights to determine which vehicles are suitable for replacement with electric models. This is coupled with a new Greenhouse Gas Emissions Report, which utilises a TÜV Rheinland certified method for calculating Scope 1 GHG emissions, allowing for timely and accurate climate disclosures.

In tandem with the Sustainability Center, Geotab has introduced EV Charge Monitoring. This feature is intended to address potential operational disruptions by offering live monitoring of fleet charge statuses, ensuring that electric vehicles are charged and ready when needed.

With EV Charge Monitoring, fleet managers can address charging issues early, manage charging queues efficiently, and make informed dispatch decisions based on real-time data. This supports the broader aim of maximising vehicle uptime and realising the cost benefits of electric vehicle adoption.

The Geotab Sustainability Center and EV Charge Monitoring are integrated into the MyGeotab platform, trusted by various organisations across public and private sectors for comprehensive telematics data security.
