LitUp signs MoU with International Gateway for USD $300m plan

Today

LitUp Network has announced the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with International Gateway Company, a move aimed at enhancing network connectivity infrastructure in Thailand and expanding both companies' presence in the ASEAN region.

This initiative is part of a USD $300 million investment by OMS Group, LitUp Network's parent company, to expand its submarine cable systems and terrestrial infrastructure. The investment is expected to play a key role in supporting the strategic collaboration outlined in the MoU, which aims to develop advanced connectivity solutions to meet the growing demand for reliable internet services in the region.

The MoU details a strategic partnership between LitUp Network and International Gateway Company on projects in Thailand and the wider ASEAN area. These include the development of cable landing stations and submarine cable systems. The collaboration will focus on three main initiatives: network connectivity infrastructure, submarine cable landing solutions, and future digital infrastructure projects.

"We are thrilled to partner with International Gateway Company on this pivotal initiative. This MoU represents a significant milestone in our journey to expand our network infrastructure capabilities in Thailand and the wider ASEAN region. Together, we will deliver world-class connectivity solutions that are crucial for the digital economy," noted Rozaimy Rahman, Managing Director of LitUp Network.

Pichit Satapattayanont, Chief Executive Officer of International Gateway Company, expressed similar sentiments, stating, "This collaboration with LitUp Network reflects our shared commitment to advancing Thailand's connectivity landscape and expanding to ASEAN region. We look forward to working closely with LitUp Network to deliver innovative solutions that meet the evolving needs of the region."

In addition to the MoU, LitUp Network and International Gateway Company are working on a new subsea cable system linking Songkhla to Rayong. This system, known as the Satun-Hatyai-Songkhla-Rayong cable system, will complement two other systems currently in development, namely Hatyai to Padang Besar and Hatyai to Bukit Kayu Hitam.

The strategic partnership aims to strengthen both companies' foothold in Thailand while aligning with their broader mission to expand their presence across the ASEAN region. By pooling resources and expertise, the collaboration aims to deliver innovative connectivity solutions to drive digital transformation and stimulate economic growth in Thailand and beyond.

LitUp Network, a subsidiary of OMS Group Sdn Bhd, is a fully integrated info-communications company, established in 2012 with a mission to delivering advanced communication networking solutions to enterprises and carriers.
