Accenture has appointed Pietro Mangione as Networks Lead for Asia Pacific, with responsibility for the growth of network services in the region.

Based in Australia, Mangione will focus on improving client network coverage, increasing bandwidth, and enhancing quality of service while integrating new IT technologies. His remit includes areas such as 5G, network optimisation, software-defined networking, cloud networking, edge computing, and network operations.

Mangione will collaborate across industries to develop network infrastructures that aim to be intelligent, agile, and secure for future requirements. The mandate involves helping clients address the growing demand for fast and reliable connectivity and managing increasingly complex network environments.

He brings over two decades of telecommunications experience across European and Asia Pacific markets, having held senior positions in Accenture's Communications, Media & Technology practice in both Italy and Australia. Mangione has also served as Client Account Director for major telecommunications clients, with his expertise spanning client delivery, strategy, and transformation.

Mangione's appointment aligns with Accenture's strategy to support enterprises in modernising their networks as a basis for digital transformation. The company identifies an increasing need among businesses for robust, secure network solutions that support broader digital initiatives.

The focus on upgrading digital infrastructure in the Asia Pacific region comes at a time when organisations are prioritising cloud services, mobile connectivity, and edge computing. Enterprises are seeking support from partners able to provide comprehensive, scalable solutions matching their business goals.

In his role, Mangione will oversee a team of specialists in the region and collaborate with global colleagues on delivering integrated solutions through different market sectors. He will also work on helping clients leverage next-generation technologies for growth and increased efficiency.

Commenting on the appointment, Tunc Yorulmaz, Global Cloud First Networks Lead at Accenture, said: "I am excited to welcome Pietro Mangione as our Networks Lead for Asia Pacific (APAC). With his extensive experience in the telecommunications industry and proven leadership, Pietro will drive growth, innovation and delivery excellence across Network services."

Addressing the strategic importance of his position, Mangione said: "This role is all about impact – on people, organisations and the future. Networks are no longer just about connectivity – they're the nervous system of every modern enterprise. Our goal is not just to upgrade networks, but to completely reimagine them."

He continued: "By integrating cloud, AI, cybersecurity and operations, we can deliver integrated, future-ready solutions that enable resilience, responsiveness and long-term value for our clients. The opportunity to help shape the future of connectivity in one of the most dynamic and fast-moving regions in the world is incredibly exciting."

Mangione also noted the importance of business insight in network integration: "Today, networks are more than just technical infrastructure; they are the backbone of a continuously evolving customer experience. Customers expect fast, immediate and personalised responses – something only intelligent, agile and high-performing networks can deliver. Our goal is to combine Accenture's Networks capabilities with other key business areas to help our clients enhance their customer experience and boost employee productivity."
