Astrotel partners with Alkira to boost Asia Pacific telecoms
Australian telecommunications company Astrotel has announced an exclusive partnership with Alkira, a company renowned for its Network Infrastructure on Demand services, to serve the Asia Pacific region.
Alkira, founded in 2018 by Amir and Atif Khan in San Jose, offers a unified network infrastructure that integrates on-premises systems, multi-cloud environments, devices, applications, and users into one easily-configurable platform. This setup can be completed within hours and securely routes data over major hyperscalers' backbones, effectively bypassing traditional telecommunications infrastructure.
Commenting on the partnership, Elizabeth Aris, Astrotel's Founder, stated, "Alkira offers a transformative approach to building communications networks, making it an ideal partner for Astrotel as we advance telecommunications for business and enterprise in the Asia Pacific region with cutting-edge Cloud and AI native global technologies."
"Advanced solutions like Alkira enhance network performance, flexibility, and efficiency, often at a fraction of the complexity and cost associated with conventional telco infrastructure. Using Alkira, organisations can instantly extend connectivity to users, sites, devices, cloud instances, and applications running on the hyperscalers' infrastructure."
Alkira's platform is already in use by several major US corporations. Standard & Poor's, for example, has deployed Alkira for its cloud networking and partner connectivity. By minimising reliance on colocations and cloud cross-connects such as Microsoft Azure ExpressRoute and AWS Direct Connect, while also eliminating firewall sprawl, the platform dramatically reduces operational complexity and can decrease the total cost of ownership by up to 60 per cent.
Aris highlighted the financial benefits, explaining, "The consumption-based pricing model ensures customers only pay for what they use, while the ELA model offers unlimited all-you-can-eat use of Alkira's solution. The platform offers built-in security capabilities, like encryption, segmentation, and traffic policies, as well as integration with all major next-generation firewall vendors for an automated deployment in minutes."
Expressing enthusiasm over the new partnership, Amir Khan, CEO of Alkira, said, "We're excited to be partnering with Astrotel in the Asia Pacific region to address the growing demand for agile, secure, and cost-efficient networking solutions that are needed to support cloud applications and AI workloads."
Astrotel's focus on integrating advanced technologies underscores its commitment to delivering next-generation connectivity solutions aimed at enhancing efficiency and innovation in a continually evolving digital landscape.
The company's collaboration with Alkira is poised to create significant advancements in the telecommunications sector across the Asia Pacific region.
Alkira has recently closed a USD $100 million Series C funding round to support its expansion into new markets, including Asia Pacific.
This financial backing is expected to bolster Alkira's capabilities in delivering its Network Infrastructure on Demand solutions more broadly.
