Thu, 20th Nov 2025

eight Telecom, powered by StarHub, has launched its first home internet service, delivering broadband speeds of up to 10Gbps. The service, called eight Home Internet, aims to provide high-speed connections for households in Singapore at a monthly rate of SGD $28.80.

Market entry

This marks eight's move into fixed connectivity, building on its presence as a mobile virtual network operator in Singapore. The company will extend its brand to households seeking fibre broadband, utilising StarHub's established infrastructure to support the service.

Service features

The plan offers no-contract, month-to-month pricing, and comes with several features designed to differentiate it from competitors. Customers can use their own routers, providing flexibility and potentially reducing electronic waste. The Bring Your Own Router (BYOR) policy also enables subscribers to avoid extra equipment costs.

Subscribers will receive a Service Guarantee which includes a dedicated hotline for priority support within the first 28 days, and biannual performance check-ins aimed at ensuring consistent internet speed and reliability. New customers are also eligible for a welcome gift during installation.

Target audience

eight Telecom is aiming its service at value-conscious customers in Singapore who seek straightforward pricing without having to commit to bundles or pay hidden fees. The company states that lower prices are achieved through operational efficiencies rather than reduced service levels, and the network is underpinned by StarHub's backbone.

Promotional offers

Customers who already use eight mobile services can benefit from discounts of up to 18% when adding eight Home Internet to their existing plans. This creates an incentive for customers to consolidate their connectivity needs with the provider.

Early registrants are promised first access to updates, priority installation slots, and exclusive promotions.

Customer assurance

"Offering lower prices does not mean cutting corners, it means doing things smarter. Every connection is backed by StarHub's trusted network, ensuring the same reliability and performance Singaporeans have come to expect," said the company's spokesperson.
