Grandstream unveils GWN7670, its first Wi-Fi 7 access point

Today

Grandstream has introduced its first Wi-Fi 7 access point with the release of the GWN7670, a dual-band model offering wireless speeds of up to 3.6Gbps.

The GWN7670 is designed to enable small-to-medium businesses, retail, hospitality, and similar sectors to establish advanced Wi-Fi networks with enhanced speeds, capacity, stability, and efficiency. It supports advanced Quality of Service (QoS), low-latency real-time applications, mesh networks, and Bluetooth Low Energy 5.3, making it suitable for environments with moderate to high user density.

The access point is equipped with dual-band 2x2:2 MIMO using DL/UL OFDMA technology and features a sophisticated antenna design to maximise network throughput and expand Wi-Fi coverage. Grandstream highlights the GWN7670's ability to improve bandwidth utilisation and reduce interference through technologies such as multi-RU and Preamble Puncturing. Additionally, the device utilises 4096 QAM modulation for substantial increases in data transfer rates.

The GWN7670 includes MLO technology to optimise spectrum resource use and ensure a smooth user experience. The product's web interface integrates a controller-less distributed network management design, simplifying installation and management. The access point is compatible with GDMS Networking and GWN Manager, Grandstream's cloud and on-premise management platforms, and integrates seamlessly with its Wi-Fi-capable IP phones.

The GWN7670 offers several distinguishing features, including 3.6Gbps aggregate wireless throughput, 5Gbps aggregate wired throughput, and a 175-metre coverage range. It can support up to 256 concurrent Wi-Fi client devices and includes advanced QoS to guarantee real-time performance of low-latency applications.

Security is addressed with anti-hacking secure boot, critical data/control lockdown using digital signatures, and unique security certificates along with random default passwords for each device. The device is also capable of self-power adaptation upon detecting PoE+.

The GWN7670's embedded controller can manage up to 50 local Grandstream access points, while GDMS Networking and GWN Manager provide scalability for managing multiple access points remotely or on-site.

Ben Miall, Director of Sales Oceania at Grandstream, commented on the future expansion of their Wi-Fi 7 offerings: "Over the coming months, Grandstream will introduce a variety of additional Wi-Fi 7 access points, featuring tri-band models. The dual-band GWN7670 is ideal for those without 6GHz enabled endpoints and locations where the 6GHz band is unavailable. It provides a cost-effective approach to future-proof new and existing installations."

The GWN7670 is now available for purchase through Grandstream's global distribution network. This allows businesses to enhance their Wi-Fi infrastructure with the latest technologies.
