MBC joins forces with PLDT Enterprise for digital transformation push
In a strategic bid to boost its digital transformation, Manila Broadcasting Company (MBC) has strengthened its partnership with telecoms integrator PLDT Enterprise and its ICT arm, ePLDT. Through adopting cloud-based Google Workspace, MBC aims to enhance business efficiency and align itself with digital audiences' evolving content preferences.
MBC, the broadcasting network behind popular radio stations DzRH, Yes FM, and Love Radio, is remodelling itself into a multi-faceted content provider, harnessing Google Workspace with the aid of PLDT Enterprise. In response to a growing move of radio audiences into the digital arena and the possibilities for customised content delivery, MBC's adaption of Google Workspace is a crucial part of this ongoing transformation.
As a Premier Google Workspace Partner, ePLDT has deployed Google Workspace to MBC, enabling it to avail of a suite of secure, uniform productivity and collaborative tools. This move is in line with the wider digital shift in the media business, necessitating platforms that employ new technologies to reach digitally-savvy audiences. "We are confident that with this partnership with PLDT Enterprise and ePLDT, our digital transformation will be seamless and collaboration among our teams will be more efficient and effective," stated Ruperto Nicdao, President of Manila Broadcasting Company.
Nicdao explained that MBC has set up a Digital Media Department to support its existing operations and generate additional content beyond its present offer. He emphasised that content must be geared towards the audience. As MBC's digitisation guide, ePLDT is optimistic in its capacity to assist MBC in repurposing towards a content-based model. "ePLDT undertakes this collaborative journey with MBC to guide them in their digital transformation as they veer towards creating more relevant content for their audience," confirmed Victor S. Genuino, President and CEO at ePLDT.
Sasha Elizalde-Del Rosario, MBC AVP & Head of Digital Marketing, echoed the excitement at the transition into digital business, maintaining that innovation and faithful service were vital to securing their legacy as a trusted source for news, information, and entertainment. She underscored the importance of retaining contact with audiences.
In its digital transformation journey, MBC was initially furnished by PLDT Enterprise with a variety of services including Premium Internet, Sip Trunk, Postpaid, and SmartBro lines. With Google Workspace, MBC will benefit from tools such as Gmail for business, Calendar, Meet, Chat, Drive, and Docs to improve intra-business coordination and productivity, in line with its aim to fully digitise its operations.
Mitch L. Locsin, First Vice President and Head of Enterprise and International Business Groups at PLDT and Smart, emphasized PLDT Enterprise's role as a digital transformation ally, going beyond technology provision to understand the complexities of MBC's industry and support its business ambitions. Albert Villa-Real, PLDT Global President and CEO and PLDT Enterprise Revenue Group Head, echoed this commitment to collective progress through its suite of solutions.
Ruperto Nicdao anticipates MBC's continual development over the next 25 years with the aid of the PLDT Group. He advocates for innovation, creativity, excellence and leadership, stating, "our future competitiveness depends on the continuous development of our existing businesses as well as venturing boldly into emerging industries."
