Neat unveils major update to App Hub with new marketplace

Yesterday

Neat, a company known for its video technology solutions, has announced a significant update to its App Hub platform. The enhanced App Hub now offers general availability of curated applications and an expanding ecosystem of use cases that can be accessed directly on Neat devices through the newly launched App Marketplace.

The App Hub platform allows users to access essential apps directly from their Neat devices, facilitating streamlined workflows and improved collaboration in hybrid work environments. The applications, which cater to various workplace needs, are centrally managed and updated through Neat Pulse.

"Neat App Hub makes it easy to integrate the daily applications teams rely on into today's modern workplace," said Hellene Garcia, VP of Emerging Technologies for Neat. "It's the continuation of our ongoing commitment to offering customers more choice and flexibility because as tools and technology progress, so do teams' requirements."

Garcia added, "Neat App Hub is not just a static platform but a dynamic and growing ecosystem that adapts to the diverse ways teams work, ensuring Neat devices deliver value today and are primed to support the needs of our customers in the future."

The first wave of applications being made available includes solutions for room and desk booking, digital signage, and more. These applications are currently being rolled out to customers. The next set of use cases, which includes wayfinding, visitor management, virtual receptionist, and additional digital signage features, are entering beta testing. Custom web apps will also begin beta availability in the fourth quarter of 2024.

One key feature of the updated platform is the Neat Share functionality, which will be in beta by the fourth quarter of 2024. This feature allows applications hosted within the Neat App Hub to be shared in Microsoft Teams and Zoom meetings, facilitating more engaging and productive collaboration sessions.

The App Hub ecosystem already includes more than two dozen providers, from global market leaders to specialised companies, offering a multitude of innovative applications. Neat is also expanding this ecosystem through the Neat Developer Program, inviting application providers and developer communities to create new and innovative apps tailored for Neat devices.

Neat's announcement underscores its commitment to enhancing the efficacy of hybrid and remote work setups. By integrating key workplace applications directly into its devices, Neat aims to provide a seamless experience that addresses the evolving needs of modern teams.

The App Hub platform and Neat's broader ecosystem of applications and tools exemplify the company's strategy to adapt its offerings in line with technological advancements and changing workplace dynamics.
