Westcon-Comstor & Cradlepoint expand partnership to Taiwan

Fri, 17th May 2024

Westcon-Comstor, a global technology provider and distributor, recently reported the geographic expansion of its collaborative relationship with Cradlepoint, a cloud-delivered LTE and 5G wireless network and security solutions multinational. On the anvil is Westcon-Comstor's distribution of Cradlepoint's Cellular Wireless Wide Area Networking (WWAN) solutions in Taiwan.

This new mutual agreement will provide a platform for carriers, vendors, and channel partners, resellers, and managed service providers (MSPs), to offer Cradlepoint solutions to various enterprises and public sector organisations in Taiwan. Previously, Cradlepoint and Westcon-Comstor have already enjoyed successful partnerships across Asia Pacific in countries such as Singapore, the Philippines, and Thailand. The further corporate expansion into Taiwan just amplifies the effectiveness of the collaboration between the two companies.

The Cradlepoint routers are managed through NetCloud Manager, an efficient cloud management and orchestration platform. It is specifically designed to simplify the myriad processes of configuration, deployment, operation, and trouble-shooting of sprawling Wireless WANs for lean IT teams. This platform allows MSPs to manage customer connectivity solutions remotely, ensuring fast network management with lesser field visits.

Moreover, post the acquisition of cybersecurity solutions provider Ericom, Cradlepoint – a pioneer in Wireless WANs – is uniquely positioned to deliver a comprehensive 5G-optimised SASE solution. This enables organisations to seamlessly tackle the security challenges posed by extended networks. The recently announced 5G-optimised NetCloud SASE solution, enables lean IT teams to establish zero-trust networks in as little as six minutes, using Cradlepoint's cloud-delivered platform.

Noting the developing scenario, Patrick Aronson, Chief Marketing Officer and APAC Executive Vice President at Westcon-Comstor, expressed his feelings about the partnership: “After achieving success in Singapore, Philippines and Thailand, we’re excited to be expanding our relationship with Cradlepoint into the key market of Taiwan. We look forward to enabling partners there to seize the 5G and LTE opportunity.”

John Boladian, Vice President Partner Sales, Asia Pacific, Cradlepoint, highlighted the immediate benefit of this extension of the distribution partnership with Westcon-Comstor. He said, “With 5G coverage reaching over 97% of locations across Taiwan, there is a lot of opportunity for channel partners to monetise Wireless WAN connectivity.” With a primary intention of offering Cradlepoint's 5G and LTE connectivity solutions to their customers, this partnership is set to open newer opportunities for their associates in Taiwan.
