FPT & Ericsson partner to boost 5G in Vietnam

FPT and Ericsson have announced a partnership to promote adopting 5G technology and advancements in artificial intelligence (AI) and digital transformation.

The collaboration aims to develop applications that highlight 5 G's capabilities in various sectors, such as healthcare, manufacturing, and retail. This initiative plans to establish dedicated efforts in Vietnam to foster AI and digital transformation innovations.

The partnership, formalised at the FPT Techday 2024 event in Ho Chi Minh City, marks the beginning of an international cooperation to accelerate 5G adoption within enterprises. The strategic focus will initially be on the Vietnamese market, aiming to utilise 5G's high-speed data transfer and scalability to advance AI-driven solutions.

FPT intends to leverage Ericcson's extensive expertise in 5G technology to strengthen its own capabilities and drive the development of sophisticated AI applications. The partnership will also explore innovative use cases for both consumer and enterprise markets.

This collaboration is viewed as a significant milestone towards enhancing Vietnam's digital infrastructure. Ericsson's continued commitment to Vietnam's telecommunications development underscores the broader aim of sharing expertise to enhance next-generation connectivity capabilities among Vietnamese enterprises.
