Lightstorm & Nokia partner to create AI-driven network twin

Today

Lightstorm has announced a partnership with Nokia to develop a Cognitive Network Operations Center Digital Twin, an AI-powered platform designed to enhance network management for telecommunications companies and service providers.

The collaboration utilises Nokia's automation solutions to improve network visibility and predictive analytics. It incorporates AI insights from Meta's Llama 3.X, offering features such as real-time monitoring and automated fault detection. The aim is to boost service reliability, reduce downtime, and increase operational agility.

Lightstorm's initiative with Nokia integrates several key components of Nokia's software capabilities, including the Network Services Platform (NSP) and Nokia Digital Operations solutions, encompassing Network Assurance Center and Unified Inventory functionalities. This integration allows for comprehensive real-time monitoring and automation.

The platform aims to introduce a seamless system that improves operational efficiency through automated fault detection, analysis, and intelligent troubleshooting, ensuring a responsive network operation. The Nokia NSP facilitates faster service fulfilment and simplifies network management while providing comprehensive oversight of both IP and optical networks.

The Network Assurance Center offers real-time service assurance with proactive alerts designed for quick issue resolution, thereby enhancing service reliability. Meanwhile, the Unified Inventory serves as a centralised repository of network data, improving decision-making and resource management through accurate data insights.

Lalit Chowdhary, Chief Technology and Information Officer at Lightstorm, stated, "By collaborating with Nokia and its data source from diverse deployed Nokia systems, we have developed a next-generation AI-powered platform that redefines network operations. This Digital Twin will significantly enhance the customer experience by enabling proactive service assurance, reducing downtime, and improving operational agility and reducing dependency on human knowledge."

Arvind Khurana, Head of Cloud & Network Services for India at Nokia, commented on the partnership, saying, "We're excited to announce a major milestone in our partnership with Lightstorm. We've powered Lightstorm's AI-driven network automation journey, and with the Nokia Digital Operations suite along with IP NMS, this Digital Twin sets a new benchmark for operational intelligence and efficiency in network management."

The Digital Twin is touted as a significant step forward in AI and automation's impact on the telecommunications sector, placing service providers at the forefront of modern network operations by delivering unprecedented levels of agility and performance.
