Shingda Group boosts efficiency with Zyxel cloud network solution
Zyxel Networks' Nebula cloud management platform has been implemented by Shingda Group to enhance network operations across its various remote construction sites and offices.
Shingda Group, a civil engineering and construction firm based in Singapore, faced challenges managing multiple remote sites with limited on-site IT resources. In response, the company adopted Nebula, Zyxel Networks' centralised cloud networking solution, which provided a hub-and-spoke VPN architecture to link construction sites back to headquarters.
The new setup integrates several network components, including GS1920 Series smart managed switches with Power over Ethernet, WiFi 6 access points such as the WAX510D for high-density wireless coverage, and ATP Series next-generation firewalls. Additional branch security devices used in the deployment include the ATP200, SCR50AXE, and USG20-VPN. All elements are administrated through Nebula's cloud-based platform, offering full network visibility, automated topology mapping, and central monitoring.
Shingda Group's IT team has reported measurable efficiency gains from this transition. According to the company, network management efficiency has risen by 60 percent following the migration to Nebula. The reliance on manual spreadsheets to track IP addresses and credentials has been eliminated. At the same time, troubleshooting and configuration tasks are now completed up to 70 percent faster compared to previous processes, reducing the workload on IT staff and enabling a quicker response to issues.
Centralised management has also brought benefits such as unified logins, simpler user access control, and consistent WiFi coverage, supporting smooth transitions as staff move between sites.
"We needed a solution that would keep our sites connected, secure and easy to manage," said Joshua Pek, IT Manager at Shingda Group. "With Zyxel Networks' equipment powering our network, we can quickly diagnose and resolve issues through a single, unified dashboard. There is no longer a need to toggle between multiple tabs for device configuration or troubleshooting."
The streamlined operations are supported by Nebula's automatic topology mapping and consolidated dashboard interface, helping IT personnel to monitor and maintain infrastructure across a variety of geographically dispersed locations from a single point.
Zyxel Networks has stated its intention to continue developing solutions that assist businesses in building more secure and smart network infrastructures. The use of cloud-powered tools in sectors such as construction highlights the growing significance of centralised network control, particularly where onsite IT expertise may be limited or stretched across several locations.
The deployment at Shingda Group demonstrates the application of Zyxel Networks' technologies in industrial and construction environments, where connectivity, security, and response times are critical to ongoing operations. The company reports the changes have simplified day-to-day IT operations, provided greater oversight of network health, and enabled rapid problem resolution through direct alerts and remote diagnostic capabilities.
