Zoom has introduced a Unified Context Layer and new artificial intelligence features for My Notes and ZoomMate. The additions are intended to connect conversation data with company records and third-party applications.

The changes are designed to cut the manual work that follows meetings, calls and chats by linking discussion history with internal knowledge and external software tools. The system draws on information from meetings, phone, chat and contact centre interactions, alongside documented company knowledge and connected systems of record.

Key additions include tools that let users search across Zoom services and more than 40 external applications, build workflows from meeting notes, and use AI agents to handle project tasks in parallel. Named integrations include ServiceNow, Workday, Google Drive and Microsoft OneDrive.

Russell Dicker, Chief Product Officer at Zoom, outlined the company's view of the next phase of workplace AI.

"Many companies have solved how to capture conversations. The harder problem, and the one that actually determines whether AI delivers value, is what happens next," said Russell Dicker, Chief Product Officer at Zoom. "Conversation feels natural. Getting work done should feel just as natural. That's the idea behind Zoom's Unified Context Layer, designed to close the gap between conversation and action without requiring extra human effort. That's the foundation of our AI strategy, and where we're focused."

Search and workflows

One part of the update is what Zoom calls agentic search, available now. The feature is designed to help users find answers across Zoom Meetings, Phone and Chat, as well as connected third-party applications, without manually tracing a decision through multiple systems.

Another addition, My Notes Workflows, is intended to turn meeting summaries into actions in other business software. Users can send summaries to destinations including Zoom Chat and Salesforce through prebuilt templates for sales, marketing and IT tasks. They can also describe a workflow in natural language instead of building it step by step in a workflow tool.

ZoomMate is also expanding with AI Agent Teams, which can divide project work among specialised AI agents and return a single output for human review. That feature is available now.

Notes expansion

Zoom is broadening the role of My Notes beyond standard online meetings. A standalone mobile app is expected to let users record and transcribe in-person discussions without using the Zoom Workplace app, bringing the same capture and summarisation functions to hallway conversations, offsite meetings and informal check-ins.

A feature called Follow Meeting is expected to let a user send My Notes to a Zoom meeting in their place. Invited team members would then receive a personalised transcript and an AI-generated summary whether they joined late, left early or missed the meeting.

Another planned tool, Screen Capture in Transcript, is designed to preserve visual material discussed during a meeting by attaching screenshots to the relevant point in the transcript. This would let users revisit the slide, chart or image being discussed alongside the spoken discussion.

External access

Zoom said the context generated by its platform will not be limited to its own client software. Through MCP connectors and APIs, conversation intelligence from Zoom can be accessed in other AI platforms, including Claude, ChatGPT and Codex.

Users will also be able to launch Zoom workflows directly from Claude and Codex, including automating meeting, chat and phone tasks and updating customer relationship management records.

This reflects Zoom's effort to position itself less as a standalone meeting application and more as a layer connecting conversation data to action across business systems. It described the model as a federated AI approach that selects different models for different use cases across an open ecosystem of vendors.

Hardware links

To extend My Notes into in-person settings, Zoom has also expanded its hardware partnerships. Devices from Bota and DTEN will connect directly to My Notes to capture conversations away from desks and formal video meetings.

Bota's products include Leaf, a magnetic card for phone-based capture, and Bean, a wearable recorder. Zoom also highlighted DTEN Action Card, a card-sized device designed to start recording an in-person conversation with one press and without a phone or laptop.

The announcement also included a feature called Zoom for Business Owners, which puts My Notes at the centre of client-related tasks. The tool can sync meeting context with Bonsai, draft proposals, manage client work and support billing with less manual follow-up.

The breadth of the update shows how workplace software providers are trying to move beyond transcription and meeting summaries towards tools that tie discussions directly to task management, search and operational systems.
