Zyxel Networks unveils new WiFi 6 security router for SMBs
Zyxel Networks has rolled out the USG LITE 60AX, a new WiFi 6 security router aimed at small businesses and teleworkers. This device promises speeds of up to 6 Gbps and comes with subscription-free threat management features.
The USG LITE 60AX is powered by a quad-core CPU and dual 2.5G ports, which are designed to ensure optimal performance. Additionally, the router can be managed through Zyxel's Nebula cloud platform and incorporates an eco-friendly design, using 95% recycled plastic.
"The USG LITE 60AX completes the entry-level offerings within our security portfolio, making it possible for customers to source and manage all devices from a single vendor and platform. As well as supporting our customers to keep their networks secure, we are also focused on helping them save time on training and troubleshooting through the comprehensive nature of our products, unrivalled usability, and affordability," said Gary Chen, ANZ regional head at Zyxel Networks.
The router is equipped with a quad-core 64-bit CPU and dual 2.5G WAN and LAN ports, designed to provide sufficient computing power and multi-gig bandwidth capacity for businesses without throttling performance. It supports WiFi 6 AX6000, which delivers up to 6 Gbps of WiFi speed and supports 160MHz channels. Zyxel's exclusive Smart Mesh technology enables users to seamlessly connect the USG LITE 60AX with Nebula-compatible access points to expand wireless coverage without requiring complex cabling.
The device aims to offer small businesses peace of mind with its built-in, subscription-free, threat management capabilities. This feature is designed to protect organisations against common cyber threats such as ransomware and malware. Network administrators can configure VPNs, patrol applications, implement VLANs, and gain comprehensive threat insights via a graphical security dashboard on the Nebula Cloud Center. Despite these advanced security features, the router maintains a throughput of up to 2 Gbps.
The eco-friendly design of the USG LITE 60AX reflects Zyxel's commitment to sustainability. Made with 95% post-consumer recycled plastic, the device aims to reduce CO2 emissions by 81% compared to using ABS plastic. The packaging of the device is crafted from 100% halogen-free, soy-based inks. Moreover, a 40% reduction in packaging volume is expected to enhance shipping efficiency and support businesses in achieving their sustainability goals.
The USG LITE 60AX is integrated with Zyxel's Nebula cloud platform, allowing centralised management and configuration of over 100 networking devices. Recent updates to the Nebula platform include cloud stacking support for XGS2220 switches, smoother configuration transitions, and a new bulk-site creation feature for managed service providers (MSPs).
Zyxel Networks continues to focus on providing secure, AI-powered cloud networking solutions tailored to the needs of small and medium-sized businesses in a rapidly changing landscape. The new USG LITE 60AX is part of its broader efforts to offer secure and easily manageable networking solutions.
