AWS unveils Innovation Hub & AI Springboard in Singapore

Today

AWS has announced the launch of its first Innovation Hub in Asia Pacific and introduced a new AI Springboard programme in Singapore, in partnership with Digital Industry Singapore (DISG), to help enterprises advance their artificial intelligence (AI) adoption.

The AWS Innovation Hub, a multi-million-dollar facility in Singapore, is aimed at accelerating digital and AI transformation for public and private sector organisations across the region. The 8,000 square-foot hub will enable more than 1,000 C-Suite leaders and 200 students from local tertiary institutions to engage annually with AWS and Amazon technologies, and to develop transformation roadmaps.

Enterprise support

In conjunction with the Innovation Hub, AWS and DISG have launched the AI Springboard programme. The initiative aims to empower 300 Singapore-based enterprises to scale their AI operations over the coming year, offering up to SGD $600,000 per enterprise in cloud credits and training support. Of this, SGD $350,000 is provided as dedicated cloud credits and training, with further credits available through other AWS support programmes, such as the AWS Migration Acceleration Program and AWS Lift.

Eligible companies can also receive co-funded consultancy support, with up to SGD $105,000 available through government funding, representing 70% of eligible consultancy costs. The AI Springboard is part of the Singapore Government's Enterprise Compute Initiative (ECI), which will allocate up to SGD $150 million to support the nation's AI transformation efforts.

Philbert Gomez, Senior Vice President, Head and Executive Director at Digital Industry Singapore, noted the significance of the support.

"Singapore is taking decisive steps to strengthen our position as a leading digital economy and AI hub in Asia. The Enterprise Compute Initiative combines access to compute and expert consultancy, to support Singapore businesses in leveraging AI to sharpen their competitive edge. We are excited to partner with leading global technology companies, like AWS, whose deep capabilities and expertise will be instrumental to these efforts. Through the AWS AI Springboard, companies across all sectors will be empowered to accelerate their AI innovation from Singapore."

The AI Springboard programme is available to enterprises of all sizes, including large corporations, small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), and local startups, provided they meet the ECI eligibility criteria and have experience in custom AI solution development for a proof-of-concept.

Partnering for implementation

Participating enterprises will have the opportunity to work with AWS partners such as AiRTS and Temus to develop AI solutions that achieve Minimum Viable Product status, serving as a critical step toward wider deployment. The AWS Generative AI Innovation Center will provide technical guidance, and monthly hands-on workshops will focus on advanced services such as Amazon Q, a generative AI assistant.

Lem Chin Kok, CEO of AiRTS, commented on the company's involvement:

"AiRTS is honored to support AWS AI Springboard, an ECI initiative. By leveraging AWS's robust cloud infrastructure and generative AI services like Amazon Bedrock, we help companies in Singapore deploy our patented GenAI Twin with enterprise-grade security and scalability. Working together with AWS, we enable organizations to experience the real-world impact of AI while building their in-house capabilities. Our customers can now seamlessly integrate, test, and scale AI solutions through the AWS cloud platform, ensuring they develop sustainable competitive advantages."

Matt Johnson, Managing Director, AI & Data at Temus, also emphasised the programme's focus on practical deployment:

"What's crucial is enabling strategic, experience-driven AI deployment that delivers results. Our partnerships with AWS and DISG are central to delivering both social and economic value for Singapore. AWS provides access to world-class compute infrastructure including Amazon Bedrock, enabling us to deliver scalable AI solutions with speed and efficiency. We're engineering solutions that Singapore organizations can implement today, learn from, and iterate upon – moving beyond proofs of concept to production systems that continuously improve."

Wynthia Goh, Senior Partner for NCS NEXT, another AWS Generative AI Services Competency Partner, said,

"As an AWS Generative AI Services Competency Partner in Asia Pacific, NCS brings deep domain expertise and proven delivery capabilities to help companies transform their AI aspirations into measurable business outcomes. Through our collaboration with AWS, we provide both the technical foundation and strategic guidance needed for clients to develop their initial AI solutions, with a clear roadmap for production-scale deployment."

Additional benefits of the AI Springboard include access to AWS Skill Builder 2025 subscriptions and the AWS Career Launchpad, delivery of training subsidies and supported salary costs for learners, in collaboration with training partners such as Trainocate.

Sector-wide impact

Julian Oh, Technical Director at PulseSync, described the impact of AI Springboard for healthcare and related sectors.

"As the largest IT provider for organizations in the Intermediate and Long-Term Care (ILTC) sector, we are now looking to use AI to collate and summarize information from multiple disciplines and perspectives for our clients. As such, the AWS AI Springboard will be very useful to speed up the research and implementation of this to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of our clients and ultimately provide better quality care to seniors and the elderly."

Priscilla Chong, Country Manager, AWS Singapore, said,

"Singapore has always been at the forefront of digital innovation, and the Enterprise Compute Initiative is a timely catalyst for the next wave of AI-driven transformation. With AWS AI Springboard, we're bringing together the full depth of our cloud and AI capabilities, hands-on expertise, and talent development programs to help enterprises in Singapore turn ambitious ideas into real-world impact. We're proud to support this national effort to scale innovation with speed, confidence, and purpose."

The AI Springboard is available to all Singapore-registered enterprises with a valid Unique Entity Number and that meet the ECI's eligibility requirements. The launch of the Innovation Hub and AI Springboard is intended to further support Singapore's standing as a digital economy.
