CelcomDigi has opened its Tech Fair 2026 in Petaling Jaya, focusing on artificial intelligence. The event is the third edition of the company's annual consumer technology showcase.

The five-day fair is being held at 1 Utama Shopping Centre under the theme “Work, Live and Play Smarter with AI”, with technology partners including Samsung, HONOR, OPPO, vivo, Xiaomi and Google.

Visitors can explore AI-enabled smartphones, smart devices, digital services and connectivity products, alongside interactive exhibits, live demonstrations and educational sessions. The programme also features Tech Talks on online safety and cybersecurity, workplace productivity, content creation, smart mobility, and AI smartphones and foldable devices.

CelcomDigi said the event is intended to give Malaysians more practical exposure to AI as the technology becomes more common in consumer devices and digital services. Among the attractions is AIRA, the fair's AI-powered co-host, along with live humanoid robot performances.

Cheng Weng Hong, Chief Sales & Retail Officer at CelcomDigi, said: “AI is no longer a technology of the future. It is already transforming how we connect every day. As AI becomes increasingly integrated into devices and services, it is important that Malaysians better understand its potential and experience its benefits firsthand.”

The fair also serves as a retail push, with timed promotions and prize draws aimed at boosting footfall. CelcomDigi is offering Tech Hour Deals twice daily, with discounts of up to 87% on selected products.

Eligible customers on CelcomDigi Postpaid 5G 80 and above principal line plans can buy selected items, including the Harman Kardon Luna 2 and DJI NEO 2, for RM99, while the Samsung Galaxy Buds4 Pro and Galaxy Watch9 are priced at RM199, subject to availability. These offers are limited to 100 units per session.

Shoppers who spend at least RM100 in a single receipt can also buy selected accessories for RM20, with the offer limited to the first 150 customers each day. Daily lucky draws are scheduled in the evening, with smartphones, smart devices, luggage and other prizes available.

Consumer focus

The event reflects how telecoms operators are increasingly using consumer showcases to link mobile plans, devices and digital services through a single sales channel. For CelcomDigi, the fair also provides a public platform to present AI as a mainstream part of everyday technology rather than a specialist product category.

More than RM350,000 worth of prizes are available in daily giveaways. That emphasis on deals and rewards sits alongside efforts to present AI in practical terms for consumers at home, at work and while travelling.

Malaysia's largest mobile network operator has more than 20.3 million users on its network. That scale gives the group a broad base to target with device upgrades, service bundles and promotional offers tied to 5G postpaid plans.

Cheng said: “Through the CelcomDigi Tech Fair, we are bringing together leading technology partners to demonstrate how AI can help people be more productive and enjoy richer digital experiences. Alongside the latest innovations, visitors can also enjoy exclusive deals and rewards, making it easier than ever to embrace a smarter digital lifestyle.”
