Thai Airways boosts network with Juniper's AI platform

Tue, 5th Nov 2024

Thai Airways has modernised its network infrastructure at its headquarters in Thailand with Juniper Networks' AI-Native Networking Platform.

The airline has adopted Juniper's platform to improve operations and workflow processes and enhance the customer experience during online flight research, booking, and management. This transformation marks Thai Airways as the first organisation in Thailand to deploy Wi-Fi 6E through Juniper AP45 access points in conjunction with Juniper EX Series Ethernet switches.

The deployment utilises Mist AI, an AI-driven solution with nine years of insights and data science development. This technology provides rich user experience insights and proactive fault resolutions, aiming to slash network-related trouble tickets by as much as 90%. Further efficiency is achieved through Juniper Mist Wired and Wireless Assurance cloud services, which unify the management of the airline's wired and wireless networks.

The implementation also includes the Marvis Virtual Network Assistant, which empowers Thai Airways' IT team with a conversational interface for detecting and resolving networking issues. This tool provides insights into the root causes of issues, proposes prescriptive actions, and contributes to a significant decrease in issues and user complaints. Consequently, the time required for network operations has been reduced, allowing the airline to concentrate on providing better services and outcomes.

As Thailand's national carrier, Thai Airways views its corporate network as a crucial strategic component for its post-pandemic business growth. The airline's new network from Juniper is essential for maintaining its reputation for hospitality and service, especially as it considers extending Juniper's solutions to its hubs at Bangkok's two major international airports.

Tana Kantipan, Team Lead for Network and Cybersecurity at Thai Airways, stated, "Slow, unreliable Wi-Fi was previously hampering productivity and efficiency at our Bangkok head offices, but the upgrades have turned networking complaints into compliments. With the Juniper solution, we are now also able to unify management of our wired and wireless networks through an industry-leading, cloud-native solution purpose-built to leverage AIOps. Enabled by Juniper, we are excited to continually uplift the user experiences of our operators and customers alike, as Thai Airways continues to grow and soar into the skies internationally going forward."

Perry Sui, Area Vice President for ASEAN & Taiwan at Juniper Networks, added, "We are honoured to support Thai Airways as it embarks on its digital transformation journey toward growth. With Juniper's AI-Native Networking Platform, we are confident that Thai Airways will continue delivering the best possible and future-proof networking user experiences across all its internal and external stakeholders. Alongside Thai Airways, we look forward to continuously providing the networking connectivity enabling international travel connectivity, in support of their strong growth trajectory across the ever-evolving aviation landscape."
