Indosat profit up 12.2% as AI drives ARPU, broadband push

Wed, 11th Feb 2026

Indosat Ooredoo Hutchison reported a 12.2% rise in full-year net profit for FY 2025, alongside revenue of IDR56.5 trillion and higher average revenue per user (ARPU), as Indonesia's mobile market shifts toward higher data usage and bundled digital services.

Net profit attributable to owners reached IDR5.5 trillion. FY EBITDA totalled IDR26.6 trillion, reflecting improved profitability and disciplined execution.

Performance strengthened in the final quarter. Fourth-quarter revenue rose 9% quarter-on-quarter to IDR15.36 trillion, while net profit attributable to owners increased 53.5%. EBITDA grew 12% quarter-on-quarter, outpacing revenue growth.

"We closed 2025 with strong momentum, delivering on our guidance and ending the year on a solid trajectory into 2026, marked by robust revenue growth, improved profitability, and solid net profit. Our progressive ARPU growth is driven by AI-powered hyper-personalization, a stronger network, and our relentless focus on delivering a remarkable customer experience. Guided by our purpose to empower Indonesia, we are strengthening our foundation through disciplined investment, operational excellence, and AI-driven transformation to build a resilient, inclusive, and future-ready digital ecosystem," said Vikram Sinha, President Director and Chief Executive Officer, Indosat Ooredoo Hutchison.

ARPU trend

ARPU grew 6.4% in FY 2025, averaging IDR44 thousand for the year. Indosat attributed the increase to personalisation initiatives, network experience improvements, and customer-facing features focused on security and digital trust.

One of those features is an AI-powered 360 Scam and Spam Protection service, designed to safeguard users across multiple digital channels through an agentic platform. Indosat positioned it within a broader push on customer experience, security, and digital trust.

Network footprint

Indosat continued to invest in network reliability while expanding services aimed at home connectivity. It introduced a fixed wireless access product branded HiFi Air, and reported that 5G services and HiFi Air are available in 24 cities.

By the end of 2025, Indosat had about 400,000 home broadband customers, based on its reported Home Broadband customer count. The figure highlights its expansion beyond mobile-only relationships as Indonesian households consume more video, commerce, and work-related services over home connections.

AI emphasis

Indosat described its strategy as integrating artificial intelligence into network operations and customer engagement, supported by data-driven operations and investment in digital infrastructure and innovation. It also outlined a broader shift toward becoming an AI-driven company, with personalisation and security as near-term applications.

The results come as telecom operators across South East Asia face pricing pressure, rising network costs, and the need to differentiate beyond connectivity. Many are turning to fixed wireless access as a faster route to home broadband growth than fibre build-outs in some locations, while using digital services to lift per-user revenue.

For Indosat, FY 2025 points to improved profitability alongside continued ARPU expansion. It ended the year with momentum and a solid trajectory into 2026.
