Samsung Singapore partners to boost AI in education
Samsung Electronics Singapore has announced partnerships with Challenger Technologies, Geniebook, and TeachingTutor.ai to enhance digital classroom experiences through AI-powered education technology (edtech) solutions.
The partnerships were formalised at a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signing ceremony held at Edutech Asia 2024. These collaborations are set to bring scalable and secure edtech solutions to educational institutions, leveraging Samsung's government-grade Knox security.
Samsung and its partners plan to facilitate various workshops and provide a library of multimedia resources to support AI adoption in education, helping to expand AI literacy among educators and users.
Dennis Jang, President of Samsung Electronics Singapore, stated, "The age of artificial intelligence has accelerated the demand for suitable technology to build relevant 21st-century skills, including AI and digital literacy. By partnering with like-minded organisations, we are well placed to offer AI-ready solutions for the education sector with our devices and our partners' comprehensive offerings. The MoUs signed are proof of our commitment, and we will work closely with partners within the sector to further the delivery of relevant digital skills, made possible with Galaxy and Samsung Knox."
Samsung's partnership with Challenger Technologies is aimed at promoting the adoption of mobile AI devices in the education sector through hardware offerings and post-sales support. The partnership targets engagement with up to 2,000 educators and users via workshops specially designed by Samsung.

Samsung's collaboration with Geniebook aims to redefine learning experiences by integrating AI-powered e-learning experiences accessible on Galaxy tablets secured with Knox. This provides a personalised and secure educational environment for users, incorporating features like the S Pen.

Education is personal, and in order to scale the customised approach, we turned to AI to help create a robust solution where both students and their parents can be on top of learning progress. Through its alliance with TeachingTutor.ai, Samsung seeks to enhance AI-powered learning by providing personalised learning experiences without the need for constant online connectivity, addressing potential challenges in network infrastructure and cost in educational settings.
Harry Katsiabanis, Chief Investment Officer of TeachingTutor.ai, noted, "Many AI services today require active network connectivity, but this may be a challenge in educational institutions where cost and infrastructure may be a challenge. Hence, our partnership with Samsung is a breakthrough for AI learning platforms as the Galaxy device architecture will allow for TeachingTutor.ai platform to perform, even when the device is not connected online. This will allow learners to enjoy learning without worries."
Samsung's commitments to the education sector include a range of solutions from digital devices and AI applications to security measures. Notable products include the Galaxy Tab S10 Series, featuring the Galaxy S Pen and Galaxy AI, as well as the Samsung Knox platform for secure and efficient management of educational devices.
